Golden Bike Park Grand Opening A Success!

On Saturday, October 30th, the Golden Bike Park officially opened for business!

Under bluebird sunny skies, an eager crowd—estimated at 300 plus—watched as Golden Mayor Jacob Smith christened the flow trail on his personal Yeti 575 followed by a train of local youngsters. After the obligatory speeches by politicos and GBP leaders, cyclists of all ages and abilities waited their turn to sample the jumps and berms of Gold Rush as well as the pump track and features in the Miner's Alley skills area.

Attendees were also treated to exhibition riding by pros Jeff Lenosky (Giant), Ross Milan (Yeti), and local female pro Tammy Donahugh. Lunch was served along "expo row", which consisted of booths staffed by local shops and COMBA supporters like IMBA and Native Eyewear.

COMBA was pleased to have wrapped up this project in such a timely fashion and at no cost to the city of Golden. We thank the City of Golden and the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board, and staff, for their partnership.

Note: GBP will be maintained by COMBA volunteers-- please help us prove to the city that beyond building a spectacular amenity, we can also take care of it; contact info@comba.org to lend a hand.
