New trail conditions signs at Green Mountain

The city of Lakewood has established a muddy trail education program at Green Mountain. It includes signs at each trailhead ranking the trails as "red - very muddy", "yellow - muddy, not recommended", and "green - normal conditions". We change the arrows on the signs as conditions change. We have a twitter feed for this program, and other Green Mountain information, and we are trying to get the word out to more people. The twitter feed is @HaydenGreenMtn.  Information for Bear Creek and Green Mountain is also posted on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/BearCreekLakePark.

Nov 5th Sandy Wash volunteer day cancelled – GBP workday still on!

We pushed our luck in April when we completed Blackjack, but it looks like mother nature got us this time. We are canceling this Saturday's Sandy Wash trail day.  Not sure if we'll be able to re-schedule before spring, but stay tuned. Thanks to all who registered for this event and to everyone who helped out throughout the year. We'll be back in full force in 2012.

If you still want to play in the dirt, the Golden Bike Park maintenance day is still on! Join us at the GBP this Saturday from 9-12. More details here:

Save the date: Aug 20th is the next Buffalo Creek trail workday

Save the date: Saturday Aug 20th is the next Buffalo Creek trail workday. In August we will be putting crews on both Charlies Cut-off and Blackjack. As always after work food and beer will be provided. Don't forget about the new volunteer rewards program – volunteers accumulating 20 hours of volunteer service this year on any COMBA project will be rewarded with access to ProMotive.com where products hundreds of outdoor manufacturers can be purchased at pro-deal prices.

We had a successfuly weekend in July -- fully signing the Blackjack and Raspberry Ridge, opening a green line around the feature "Split" and closing down some unauthorized go-arounds. We did not have enough volunteers to begin work on "The Strip" so come out in August to help us open this new line and give some love to sections of Charlies Cut-Off

Please RSVP at: http://www.comba.org/content/buffalo-creek-registration
