Jeffco Seeks Input on Yielding Regulations

Yes, another hot topic among mountain bikers. Jefferson County Open Space is in the process of reviewing its yielding regulations. We all know these are fairly controversial among mountain bikers because the current language is open to a fair bit of interpretation.

JCSO is seeking input from user groups and comments are due by July 6. You can get electronic information about how to comment at: http://www.co.jefferson.co.us/jeffco/openspace_uploads/yielding_info.pdf.

Just like Apex, this is an important issue for Front Range mountain bikers, regardless of whether you are a member of COMBA (though you should be). Please forward this information on to your friends and other riders. The more mountain bikers that respond, the better.

COMBA board members have been working very closely with JCOS staff on this issue for several months, and we are strong advocates for a yielding regulations that is based on common sense, easy to understand and treat all open space users fairly.
